Siobhan Haughey on Friday won gold for the 200-metre freestyle event at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2024 in Incheon, South Korea.
The SAR's swimming queen dominated the race – one of her favourite events – finishing with a time of 1:51.02, three seconds clear of silver medallist, Brittany Castelluzzo of Australia.
Another Australian, Milla Jansen rounded up the podium.
The win comes hot on the heels of Haughey’s silver-medal performance in the women's 400-metres freestyle race on Thursday.
The 26-year-old will feature in the 50-metre breaststroke and the 100-metre freestyle on Saturday, the last of her events for the Incheon leg of the tournament.
Meanwhile, 15-year-old SAR swimmer Li Su-yiu finished seventh in the race with a personal best of 1:59.17 seconds.
The event is part of a qualifying series for the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest at the end of this year.
Held over three consecutive weeks, the series began last week in Shanghai and concludes in Singapore early next month.
