Hong Kong's Olympic fencing champions Edgar Cheung and Vivian Kong are among the winners of the annual Fencing World Cup, after topping the rankings of their respective disciplines over the past season.
The pair received their awards at this year's International Fencing Federation Congress in Uzbekistan.
At the end of the 2023-24 season, Cheung topped the men's foil table for the first time in his career.
He won gold at the Paris Olympics for the SAR and finished on top of Grand Prix events in Turin and Shanghai.
"I am really happy to win this award, and I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has helped and supported me," Cheung wrote on social media.
For Kong, who announced her retirement from professional fencing after winning gold in the Olympics, she returned to the world number one spot in women's individual epee.
She made history at the Paris Games, clinching the first-ever gold medal in the individual epee event for Hong Kong, China.
Kong also reached the top of the rankings in the 2018-19 season.
The SAR team's fencing coach, Greg Koenig, attended the ceremony and called the pair "the pride of Hong Kong".
