Hong Kong, China badminton stars Jordan Tang and Tse Ying-suet on Friday crashed out of the World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, falling to the national team's Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin in three games.

That result could be the end of the road for the SAR pair, with Tse having already hinted at retirement earlier this year as she continues to battle injuries.

Jiang and Wei pulled ahead late to win the opening game, 21-16.

It didn't take long for Tang and Tse to bounce back, though, claiming a nail-biting 21-19 victory in the second to force a winner-take-all third.

Down by six at the break, the SAR pair put up a fight by scoring six straight points to cut the deficit at 14-11.

But Jiang and Wei pulled away to seal a 21-15 victory to round out the 63 minute match-up.

The Hong Kong duo finished group play with one win and two losses.

Jiang and Wei will join compatriots Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong in the knockout round, which begins on Saturday.
