Hong Kong, China has booked itself a place in the finals of the East Asia Football Federation (EAFF) E-1 Football Championship in South Korea next year after they crushed Guam in the finale of the qualifying round of the tournament, which the city hosted this month.
A goal in each half from Tai Po midfielder Philip Chan as well as strikes from Benavides Medeiros, Everton Camargo and Dudu helped seal a 5-0 win at Hong Kong Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The victory caps a perfect run in the preliminary competition, with the hosts having beaten Mongolia and Chinese Taipei in their previous matches.
The SAR can now look forward to the (EAFF) E-1 finals in July 2025, when they will face Asian powerhouses South Korea, Japan and China.
