Football fans were treated to a nostalgic evening as former Real Madrid and Barcelona stars faced off in a highly anticipated exhibition match at Hong Kong Stadium on Friday.

The game brought together veteran players from the two iconic clubs, including Iker Casillas and Roberto Carlos for Real Madrid, and Thierry Henry and Xavi Hernández for Barcelona.

“It’s good to see the players,” said football enthusiast Mike.

“The people that are here are really enjoying themselves.”

Many fans attended the game to watch their favourite players in action.

Benjamin, a French native, was excited to see a legend from his home country grace the field again.

“I [used to] only see Thierry Henry on TV,” he said.

“For me, it was an opportunity to see the legendary player [in person].”

Real Madrid supporter Carlos shared similar sentiments.

“It was really nice [to see Luis Figo play in person]. I saw him 10 years ago back in Madrid, and to see him play here is really nice,” he said.

The match ended in a one-sided 5-2 victory for Barcelona. But for many of the spectators, being able to witness the historic rivalry was what mattered most.
