The Hong Kong, China men's ice hockey team on Monday night was defeated by Kyrgyzstan, 5-6, in the quarter-finals ranking round at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin.
The SAR squad were up 5-4 with just minutes left in the third period, when Kyrgyzstan scored a goal to force overtime. They would score again in the extra period to seal the win.
The game comes a day after some Hong Kong players were assaulted by opposing players after their victory over Turkmenistan.
The Hong Kong men are back on the ice at 4pm on Tuesday against Kazakhstan.
