Snooker legend Judd Trump is set to make his highly anticipated debut in Hong Kong on Tuesday as a newly minted SAR resident.

He will compete against Gary Wilson at 7.30pm in the World Snooker Grand Prix at the Kai Tak Arena.

In the tournament's opening matches, English players Stuart Bingham and Jack Lisowski advanced to the second round after defeating Wales' Mark Williams and China's Zhang Anda, respectively.

A national team matchup on Tuesday will see Wu Yize play Pang Junxu.

This six-day event is the first official sports competition at the new Kai Tak Sports Park.

The tournament also features China's leading player Ding Junhui and renowned player Mark Selby.

SAR resident Ronnie O'Sullivan has withdrawn from the tournament due to health concerns.
