Hong Kong, China badminton star Angus Ng was sent packing at the All England Open in Birmingham, losing to Singapore's Loh Kean Yew in straight games in the round of 16 on Thursday.
Ng came off an impressive victory over Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia, coming from a game down in the last 32 to advance 19-21, 21-16, 21-12.
But the SAR shuttler once again struggled against Loh, having lost all four of their previous encounters.
Ng conceded the opening game 15-21, before falling 4-10 behind in game two. The Hong Kong representative stormed back to level things up at 14-all, but eventually succumbed to a 17-21 defeat.
Loh will next face China's world number one, Shi Yuqi, who beat Chou Tien-chen of Chinese Taipei 21-11, 21-19. Shi is the favourite in Birmingham following Victor Axelsen's surprise exit earlier on Thursday.
