Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo touched down in Hong Kong on Thursday with his Saudi Pro League club, Al-Nassr, ahead of the city's hosting of the Saudi Super Cup at Hong Kong Stadium.
Al-Nassr confirmed the team's arrival in the SAR via a social media post, featuring a photo of the Portuguese legend.
The club announced: "From Riyadh to Hong Kong. The mission begins."
Eager fans quickly gathered outside the Regent Hong Kong Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui in the morning, hoping to catch a glimpse of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
Ronaldo's connection to Hong Kong deepened just last month with the opening of a museum dedicated to chronicling his career.
The Saudi Super Cup kicks off with Al-Nassr facing Al-Ittihad on August 19.
Al-Qadsiah take on Al-Ahli, who replaced Al-Hilal following their withdrawal in July, the following day.
The tournament culminates in the final on August 23.
This event marks another major football showcase for Hong Kong, following closely on the heels of last month's Hong Kong Football Festival, which featured four top European clubs.
