Hong Kong, China tennis star Coleman Wong has created history by becoming the SAR's first grand slam participant at the US Open.
The 21-year-old defeated 151st-ranked Billy Harris of Britain in the final round of men's qualifying, with a 6-3, 6-4 victory, making him the first SAR player in the Open Era to qualify for the men's singles at a Grand Slam.
Wong is currently ranked 174th after peaking at 128th in September.
Some of his possible first-round opponents include Jack Draper, Ben Shelton and Andrey Rublev, the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association said on its Facebook page.
The association said the last player from Hong Kong to compete in the men's main draw singles at the US Open was Ip Koon-hung in 1947.
