Football fans braved sweltering temperatures on Saturday ahead of Al-Nassr's highly-anticipated title clash against Al-Ahli in the Saudi Super Cup final, as Cristiano Ronaldo fever once again gripped the SAR at Hong Kong Stadium.

One fan, surnamed Kombial, told RTHK that like many at the venue, he arrived early to secure his seat well before the scheduled 8pm kick-off.

"I'm excited to see [the match]," he said. "This is my first football game [in Hong Kong], so I'm super excited to watch."

Ronaldo, 40, who is marking his maiden visit to the SAR, lifted Al-Nassr to their place in the final on Tuesday with a 2-1 victory over Saudi League holders Al-Ittihad, while Asian champions Al-Ahli advanced with a dominant 5-1 win against Al-Qadsiah the following day.

A fan named Rishab, who was at Al-Nassr's match on Tuesday, said he was excited to see his life-long idol take to the pitch again.

"The reason why I started playing football was because of him [Ronaldo]. So almost twenty years now," he told RTHK.

"I've basically [followed him] since his Manchester United days all the way until now," he added. "So it's amazing that near the end of his time as a player, he's in Hong Kong in my home city to come and play."
