Local stars Jordan Tang and Tse Ying-suet swept into the quarter-finals of the Hong Kong Badminton Open on Thursday, as the mixed doubles pair march ahead steadily on their quest for a second title of the year.
The fifth-seeded Hong Kong, China pair took care of business against Denmark's Mads Vestergaard and Christine Busch in their last 16 clash at the Hong Kong Coliseum, winning it in straight games 21-16, 21-19 in 40 minutes.
Tang and Tse are vying for their second title of the year, having won gold at the Asia Championships in Ningbo in April.
They are also looking to bounce back from their round of 16 exit at the BWF World Championships in August, where they were knocked out by Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto of India in three games.
Tang and Tse are the only remaining SAR players at the home tournament, following the exit of another mixed doubles pair in Hung Kuei Chun and Tsang Hui-yan in the last 16.
