Hong Kong basketball player David Muoka has been given another shot at making an NBA roster, with the Brooklyn Nets signing the big man to a partially guaranteed contract on Tuesday.

The deal was published on the NBA's transactions website with no further details.

Multiple US media reports suggest that Muoka, 24, was signed to an Exhibit-10 contract - a non-guaranteed, minimum salary deal that is often used by NBA teams to bring in players to compete for a roster spot.

Muoka made history last October when he became the first player from Hong Kong to ink an NBA contract.

But the Portland Trail Blazers quickly waived him to send the centre to its developmental team.

The 6-foot-10 centre had previously spent a season with the Nets' own affiliate in the developmental G League, the Long Island Nets.

He most recently played for the Windy City Bulls in the G League, where he averaged 11.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 34 games.

Muoka played collegiately at both Lamar University and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), before going undrafted in the NBA Draft last year.
