Hong Kong, China’s table tennis pair of Wong Chun-ting and Baldwin Chan have topped the rankings in men's doubles, while also securing the year-end number one spot in global rankings.

With their partnership formed in October last year, Wong, 34 and Chan, 20, enjoyed a breakthrough 2025 season.

The pair reached the finals of four World Table Tennis (WTT) events this year and clinched titles on two occasions.

They earned their first title at the World Table Tennis Contender Zagreb tournament in Croatia in June.

Their most recent triumph came in August at the Europe Smash in Sweden, where victory earned them a crucial 2,000 ranking points.

With men’s doubles not featured at the season-ending WTT Finals, Wong and Chan are guaranteed to finish the year as the world’s top-ranked pair.
