Hong Kong, China’s table tennis stars Wong Chun-ting and Doo Hoi-kem on Thursday fought hard to claim their first victory at this year's WTT Finals at the Hong Kong Coliseum.

The mixed doubles pair edged out India’s Manush Shah and Diya Chitale 3-2.

Building a comfortable 2-0 lead with 11-7, 11-3 wins in the first two games, the world No. 5 duo from the SAR lost momentum and dropped the next two games to tie the match at 2-2.

Trailing 4-1 in the decider, Wong and Doo mounted a stunning comeback, winning 10 points in a row to secure the overall victory.

They now sit third in the group with one win and one loss, and only the top two pairs will advance to the knockouts.

Wong and Doo next face China’s Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha on Friday in their final group match.

The world No. 3 Chinese pair claimed a comfortable straight-games victory over teammates Lin Shidong and Kuai Man and led the group with two wins.
