Team Hong Kong, China will face FC Seoul in the Lunar New Year Cup later this month.

The annual football showcase will be played at Hong Kong Stadium at 3pm on Saturday, February 21, the fifth day of the Year of the Horse.

Eric Fok, chairman of The Football Association of Hong Kong, China, said playing against the South Korea’s K League 1 side offers a valuable opportunity for young local players to gain experience against higher-level international opposition.

“We’ll be having a lot of different competitions this year, so we hope that hosting different types of competitions can serve the needs of different fans,” he said.

“I believe everyone has their own favourite teams. For the Lunar New Year Cup, we emphasise the festive atmosphere.”

Tickets for the match will go on sale online from 3pm on Tuesday.
