Hong Kong, China’s "flying fish" Siobhan Haughey continued her impressive run at the China Swimming Open in Shenzhen on Friday, adding two more medals to her tally.

The SAR swimmer secured gold in the women’s 50-metre freestyle, clocking 24.41 seconds to narrowly edge out Cheng Yujie from the national team.

Haughey followed up with silver in the 200-metre freestyle, touching the wall in one minute and 54.91 seconds.

The gold went to Australia’s Mollie O’Callaghan, whom Haughey had defeated in the 100-metre freestyle a day earlier to claim her first gold of the meet.

With two golds and a silver so far, Haughey has one event remaining – the 100-metre breaststroke.

In other action, Australia’s Cameron McEvoy broke the long-standing men’s 50-metre freestyle world record.

McEvoy, the reigning Olympic champion in the event, posted a time of 20.88 seconds, erasing the previous mark of 20.91 set by Brazil’s Cesar Cielo in 2009.
