Hong Kong, China cycling star Ceci Lee rode her way to gold at the Asian Track Championships in the Philippines on Thursday, securing the SAR's third overall medal at the event.

The triple gold medallist at the National Games last year maintained her composure to finish ahead of the national team's Chen Ning in the final lap of the elimination race in the southern Luzon city of Tagaytay.

Japan's Misaki Okamoto rounded out the podium in third.

It was third time lucky for Lee at the event, having won silver in the past two years.

Lee's victory came one day after her teammates struck bronzes in the men's team sprint and women's team pursuit.

The Asian Track Cycling Championships run until March 31.
