South Africa on Sunday dethroned Argentina, crushing them 35-7 to win their first-ever Hong Kong Sevens title.

The South Africans had a 14-7 lead at the break before scoring three unanswered tries in the second half to put the game away.

Selvyn Davids, who scored two of the Blitzboks' five tries, said after the match that he could not have done it without his team, and that he is ecstatic to lift the trophy.

"It's amazing, we've been searching for this one and it finally happened, so I can't describe this feeling."

He also said the Hong Kong Sevens had "the best vibes".

"It's an amazing tournament, one of the best vibes on the circuit thanks to the fans. Lovely and amazing."

Tristan Leyds, who scored and converted South Africa's first try, was named player of the match.
