Two Hong Kong, China shuttlers have advanced to the men's singles semifinals of the China Masters in Shenzhen.

Lee Cheuk-yiu posted a straight-games victory over India’s former world number one, Srikanth Kidambi in the quarterfinals.

The SAR’s top-ranked player needed just 39 minutes to wrap up a 21-16, 21-16 win at the Shenzhen Arena, setting up a last-four clash against France’s second seed, Christo Popov.

The result marks a significant turnaround for Lee, who had not reached the semifinals of a major BWF World Tour event in nearly 19 months.

In another quarterfinal match, Jason Gunawan of the SAR beat China’s Weng Hongyang in straight games.

Gunawan cruised to a 21-18, 21-13 victory and will next face fifth-seeded Anders Antonsen of Denmark for a spot in the final.
