Hong Kong, China’s women’s foil squad bagged silver at the Asian Para Games in Nagoya on Tuesday, losing 12-30 to the national team.

The SAR team – made up of Chung Yuen-ping, Lam Ka-man, Tong Nga-ting and Yu Chui-yee – were on the backfoot throughout the match.

They tried to pick up momentum after losing the first three relay bouts, but the national team proved to be the stronger team.

Instead of the usual 45-point format that consists of nine relays, a new 30-point format featuring six relays had been adopted starting at the Games this year.

Lam said that the SAR squad needed to refine their tactics, adding she hoped to draw on the experience in Nagoya to prepare for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic qualifiers.
