Clay toys pose allergy risk for children  Listenfacebook
The Consumer Council has found that some modelling dough or clay toys for children contain preservatives that can cause allergies. Three of 15 types of play dough tested were found to have preservatives exceeding European Union standards. The watchdog says to be safe, children should wash their hands after playing with play dough. The Transport Department says technology has enabled officials to charge drivers who will be using a new Kowloon tunnel. Plans were announced last week to charge drivers of all types of vehicles HK$10 for using the Central Kowloon Route when it is fully completed next year. Some lawmakers are unhappy, saying they were not informed of tolls when the project was first mooted. Damon Pang reports:
Newly-approved liver cancer treatment boosts survival rates  Listenfacebook
A dual immunotherapy treatment for liver cancer has received approval from three major health authorities for global use. A study by the University of Hong Kong's Department of Medicine found such treatment was beneficial. Thomas Yau, a clinical associate professor at the Centre of Cancer Medicine, said combining two new drugs, nivolumab and ipilimumab, significantly improved a patient's survival rate and tumour control. President Xi Jinping says China and Kazakhstan should practise true multilateralism and safeguard the common interests of developing countries. He also called on the two nations to promote connectivity, high-tech cooperation and green development. Russia marked its National Day holiday on June 12, the anniversary of the declaration of sovereignty following the end of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s. Anatoly Kargapolov, Russia's consul-general in Hong Kong, says the consulate celebrated the anniversary with a large cultural event and dinner reflecting on the vibrant partnership between the SAR and Moscow. He also told Azam Khan that Russia was keen to seize the opportunities arising from the development of the Greater Bay Area:

Israeli fire killed at least 50 people in Gaza, nearly half of them near an aid distribution site, as UN officials again denounced Israeli-backed aid delivery methods. Medics said at least 23 people were killed and 200 others wounded near the distribution site. They are just the latest in daily mass shootings that have killed hundreds of Palestinians trying to reach food, as Jamie Clarke reports:
China's retail sales in May record fastest growth in 17 months  Listenfacebook
Retail sales in China last month recorded their fastest spurt in 17 months, while factory output grew at its slowest pace since November last year. The mixed results came as Beijing and Washington continued a temporary truce in their trade war. Chloe Feng reports:

A new exhibition that opens on Wednesday at the Hong Kong Palace Museum highlights the rich cultural connections between Chinese and Islamic civilizations. The show, Wonders of Imperial Carpets, is a collaboration with the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar. The exhibition runs until October 6. Mounia Chekhab-Abudaya, Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs from the Museum of Islamic Art, told Sophie Cheung that the exhibition underscored the importance of cultural exchanges:

Flying vehicles include electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) as well as autonomous aerial vehicles (AAV). They cover many different areas, from deliveries to agriculture.
