Israel says "eliminating" Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is one of its goals as the conflict between the long-time rivals enters a second week. Iranian missiles caused serious damage at four sites in central and southern Israel, including a hospital, while Israeli forces struck a nuclear reactor. Deloitte raises HK IPO forecast to HK$200 billion  Listenfacebook
Accounting giant Deloitte has upgraded its forecast for Hong Kong's initial public offering market outlook this year. It comes as the SAR became the top fundraising hub in the world in the first half of 2025. The money raised here has exceeded that of the Nasdaq or the New York Stock Exchange. Edward Au, Southern Region managing partner at Deloitte China, said it forecasts that the city will raise over HK$200 billion from 80 listings this year. He spoke to Chloe Feng:

The Ocean Park Conservation Foundation has started using artificial intelligence and drones in the preservation of horseshoe crabs in Ha Pak Nai. The site is the largest horseshoe crab nursing ground in Hong Kong. Judy Wan, the foundation's Conservation and Community Partnerships Manager, says the pilot scheme is being done in collaboration with two local universities. A Chinese student convicted of drugging and raping 10 women in Britain and China has been jailed for life by a court in London, with a chance for parole after 24 years. He was found guilty in March of 28 offences, including 11 counts of rape. Police believe there could be more than 50 other female victims. Jamie Clarke reports:

Gaza health authorities say hundreds of Palestinians have been killed trying to collect aid at US and Israeli-run distribution sites. Since late May, Israel has sidelined the United Nations and other humanitarian aid groups, and tasked assistance operations to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. The UN has rejected this aid delivery system, calling it inadequate, dangerous and a violation of impartiality laws. Palestinians say the deadly sites are the only way to access basic needs. A company in Nigeria is planning to make millions of HIV and Malaria test kits, to help fill gaps left by funding cuts to the US donor agency, USAID. The United States, the world’s largest humanitarian aid donor, has cut funding for foreign assistance, half of which it delivers via USAID. In football, a signature Lionel Messi free-kick lifted Inter Miami to a shock 2-1 comeback win against Portuguese side Porto in the Club World Cup. Inter Miami are now in a good position to advance to the knockout stage. They are level on four points with Brazilian side Palmeiras, who beat Egyptian champions Al Ahly earlier.
