Egyptian-themed Cat Expo will feature four-metre-tall pyramid

It's being hailed as a purrrrfect event for felines and their human companions. The Hong Kong Cat Expo will be held from August 1-3 and will be themed on ancient Egypt, featuring a four-metre-tall pyramid and an art installation. Feline-themed accessories and artwork, some of which were created by local artists, will also be showcased at the event. There will also be a cat competition held by the Cat Fanciers' Association and World Cat Congress. Hong Kong Black Cat Club President Phebe Low spoke to Lauren Kee about the SAR's inaugural World Cat Congress.

Bryan Kohberger, who's 30, was given four consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole under a deal that spared him the death penalty in return for pleading guilty earlier this month. Ukraine's Zelenskyy promises new plan to fight corruption

Ukraine's president has promised a quick new plan to fight corruption. That's after a law curbing the independence of anti-graft agencies triggered the first street protests of the war and a rare rebuke from European allies. Ukraine has toughened restrictions on two anti-corruption agencies at the centre of the government's reform drive, rolling back their autonomy in favour of tighter executive control. But Ukrainians, opposition lawmakers and European officials have called on Kyiv to reverse the law. Jamie Clarke reports.
