Top Chinese and US economic officials have met in Sweden for talks aimed at resolving long-standing economic disputes at the centre of a trade war. The parties are seeking to extend a truce by three months. Officials in the capital, Beijing, raised emergency responses to flood control to the highest level last night. Fast food giant McDonald's plans to sell eight prime retail properties in Hong Kong with a total market value of HK$1.2 billion, according to property firm JLL. The company says it's been appointed as the sole agent for the sales, which will be conducted via a public tender that ends on September 16. The Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) will make its Asian debut in Hong Kong in mid-October. Eight players will be competing at the tournament at the Kai Tak Sports Park. UTS has a different format than most typical tennis matches, with timed matches and players playing quarters rather than sets. Tickets will cost from nearly HK$400 to HK$1,600.
