Police say they've arrested a man who is suspected of attacking two people at Hoi Sham Park in To Kwa Wan on Saturday. The victims remain in critical condition after suffering cuts to their necks, and officers say they did not know the suspect. Wallis Wang reports:
Thousands evacuated as Matmo lashes south China

The Observatory has cancelled all typhoon signals at 10:20 on Sunday night as Typhoon Matmo moved further away from Hong Kong. According to the Observatory, Matmo made landfall near Zhanjiang in Guangdong province and continued to move inland. On the mainland, hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes as the typhoon lashed the southern coast. Sachin Katvi reports:
Government to step up country park protection

The Environment and Ecology Bureau says it would review crowd management measures at country parks to enhance ecological conservation. This came after it received reports of visitors capturing marine life, trampling on coral and cooking on the beach at Sharp Island in Sai Kung during the National Day Golden Week holiday. The island and surrounding areas are a part of Hong Kong's Unesco Global Geopark. Wallis Wang reports:

The issue of immigration is becoming a contentious topic around the world. US President Donald Trump has ordered the mass deportations of illegal migrants since the start of his second term in office, while protests have sprung up across Europe, mainly from right-wing groups who're against immigration policies. Britain is no exception, and its main opposition party has promised to deport 150-thousand illegal immigrants each year, if it returns to power. The leader of the Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch said a powerful new force with be created for the task, one that's modelled after the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. RTHK's UK correspondent, Gavin Grey, told Ben Tse the Tories were under pressure in poll ratings a little more than a year after losing power:
Landslides and floods kill 63 in Nepal, India

Landslides and floods triggered by heavy downpours have killed more than 60 people in Nepal and neighbouring India. Nepalese authorities have confirmed 44 deaths so far, with five others missing. Congo's coffee trade, after recovery, now under threat from war

Congo's coffee farmers fear the ongoing war in the country will undo recent gains. The latest hostilities in a decades-long conflict have killed thousands and displaced hundreds of thousands more, including farmers.
