A local think-tank says Hong Kong's policies in luring talent not only emphasise quantity, but also quality. This came as more than 18-hundred scholars from the SAR made it to the world's top two per cent of scientists in a ranking published by Stanford University. Our Hong Kong Foundation's deputy research director, Victor Kwok told Janice Lo that the results will help Hong Kong become an international education hub, and a leading centre in the innovation and technology sector.

Some of the partners of the government's newly established "Go-Global" task force said they may increase manpower to better support mainland firms in expanding their presence overseas. On Monday, the SAR government launched the one-stop platform to try to attract more mainland enterprises to go global by utilising Hong Kong as a "launch pad". Andrew Fei, partner of law firm, King and Wood Mallesons, said one of the key advantages of the Task Force on Supporting Mainland Enterprises in Going Global is that it's multidisciplinary - with supports from various industries. The firm is one of the partners of the taskforce. Mr Fei spoke to Chloe Feng.

Hamas says it's serious about a Gaza deal, but that certain obstacles need to be ironed out. The comments came on the second anniversary of the war, amid hopes of a breakthrough in peace talks by both Palestinian and Israeli civilians. Jamie Clarke reports:

The death of South Africa's ambassador to France in recent days has sparked intense speculation. Emmanuel Nathi Mthethwa was found dead in a courtyard of the Hyatt Regency hotel in Paris, after an apparent fall from his room on the twenty-second floor. South Africa is sending a team of investigators to the French capital to assist in the probe. RTHK's correspondent Simon Marks told Janice Lo while authorities do not suspect foul play was involved, the case still drew much attention partly because Mr Mthethwa's death came out of the blue:
Amateur trekkers trapped in Everest lack training: expert  Listenfacebook
A climbing expert says that lack of training is to blame after hundreds of trekkers became trapped on Mount Everest over the weekend. Heavy snowfall had buried their camp, with hikers having to work constantly to clear the snow from their tents. Jamie Clarke has more:
