Two top bosses at the BBC have resigned following criticism over bias at the British broadcaster, including in the way it edited a documentary featuring a speech by US President Donald Trump. Its Director-General Tim Davie, who's led the BBC since 2020, has stepped down, as has its CEO of News, Deborah Turness. Our UK correspondent Peter Anderson told Carol Musgrave that the move, which was triggered by the Daily Telegraph publishing a leaked internal memo, was the "final nail in the coffin" for Mr Davie, who had been tackling a number of other failings:
US air travel could 'slow to a trickle' over shutdown  Listenfacebook
The US transport secretary says air travel in the country will slow to a trickle due to the ongoing government shutdown, which has reached a record 40 days. As Jamie Clarke reports, it's led to shortages of air traffic controllers who, like other federal employees, have not been paid for weeks:

US transport officials say the flight reductions are aimed at relieving pressure amid the record-long government shutdown, and it'll take some time for air traffic controllers to return to work. A boat carrying members of the Rohingya community from Myanmar has sunk near the Thai-Malaysian border. The Malaysian maritime agency says at least seven people are dead, 13 others have been rescued while hundreds more are still missing. Jamie Clarke reports:
