Suicide bombing kills at least 12 at Islamabad court

Pakistan's defence minister says the country has been pushed into a "state of war", after a suicide bomb attack killed 12 people in Islamabad. The blast -- outside the gates of a district court in the capital, injured at least 27 others. As Jamie Clarke reports, Pakistan's interior minister is blaming both Indian-backed elements and proxies of the Afghan Taliban for the attack:
Election forums 'allow voters to make better choices'

The government held the first two election forums featuring candidates in the upcoming Legco elections. Low-altitude economy to be focus at logistics conference

Organisers say the low-altitude economy will be a key focus in an upcoming logistics conference to be held in Hong Kong. This year's Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference, or Almac, will for the first time feature a low-altitude economy zone. The two-day event kicks off next Monday at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the Trade Development Council is a co-organiser. Deputy Executive Director of the TDC, Patrick Lau, told Janice Lo more about the 15th edition of Almac.
Chinese firms ink record deals at Shanghai import expo

Organisers of the recent China International Import Expo in Shanghai said Chinese companies signed a record US$83.5 billion in deals, a 4.4 percent increase year on year. Thousands of exhibitors from about 155 countries, regions and international organisations took part in the six-day fair. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council hosted two dedicated pavilions for the food and services sectors in Shanghai. The 54 exhibitors from the SAR included Tyrell Au, co-founder of FrieghtAmigo, a one-stop shipping platform. He told RTHK's Backchat programme how the massive expo helped his company go global:

UK jobless rate rises to 5pc, highest since Covid

The UK's jobless rate has risen to 5 percent in the three months to September, a level not seen since late 2020, during the height of the Covid pandemic. The worse-than-expected figure piles pressure on the government, just two weeks before the next budget is due.
