Property prices have risen for the third consecutive month, hitting a six-month high. The Rating and Valuation Department said private home prices rose by 1.4 percent in March, slightly down from the 2.4 percent reported in February. But compared to March last year, prices were still down by eight percent. Private rents, meanwhile, rose by 1.1 percent last month. An expert from a real estate services company warned that the property market recovery may slow if there were further US interest rate hikes. But Hannah Jeong, the head of valuation and advisory services at Colliers Hong Kong, told Ada Au that the data was looking good so far, especially for non-luxury smaller flats:

Rules have been tightened on public housing tenants who want to buy a subsidised Home Ownership Scheme flat, requiring them to make a declaration on whether they have owned a local property in the past two years. It follows an outcry after a suspect in the murder of a socialite this year was found to have bought a subsidised flat despite already owning a luxury property. The chairwoman of the Housing Authority's subsidised housing committee, Cleresa Wong, said previously, public tenants - known as 'green form' applicants - were not required to make such a declaration, because authorities did not want to discourage them from buying an HOS flat and moving out of their public rental housing. Youth Diabetes Action says new glucose monitors being made available for young diabetes patients are "life changers" that will free them from having to prick their fingers multiple times a day. The continuous glucose monitor (CGM) is a small patch with a needle that diabetes patients stick onto their arms to get glucose level readings. But not everyone can afford it because of its high cost. But Fina Cheng, who chairs the group, told Violet Wong that with Hong Kong Jockey Club funding, more young patients will benefit:
