Lebanon and Israel have agreed to extend a ceasefire for three weeks following high-level talks at the White House. Top diplomats from the two warring countries met in the Oval Office for ⁠a second round of peace discussions. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, US President Donald Trump said the meeting went very well. He added Hezbollah remained a sticking point, but expected both sides to find an amenable solution:

Former residents of two more fire-ravaged blocks at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po have begun collecting belongings that have not burned. Those who lived in Wang Cheong and Wang Yan houses on Thursday started to salvage what remained. Elvis Yu has details.

A senior fire services official has defended the decision not to activate the emergency alert system during the Wang Fuk Court blaze, citing fears of unpredictable responses from the residents. Deputy fire services director Derek Chan told the inquiry probing the inferno that there was no other way to alert residents, whose windows had been covered because of renovation work when the buildings' internal fire-alarm system had not been switched on. Researchers have found that Hong Kong's housing market is gradually recovering. In a report on the city's housing landscape that also looks at ways to redevelop public housing, the Our Hong Kong Foundation think tank says there's now a window of opportunity for the government to redevelop ageing estates. This comes as the Housing Authority announced that it's pushing out three subsidised housing schemes at the same time. The foundation's Assistant Research Director Jason Leung spoke to Natasha Ho:

The Securities and Futures Commission says it has reached an agreement with accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers to compensate minority shareholders of China Evergrande. The privacy watchdog has accused a clubhouse at a Kowloon Tong estate of violating laws that led to a data breach affecting more than 9,000 people last year. The victims included current and former members of the Yau Yat Tsuen Garden City Club. The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data -- the PCPD -- has ordered the club to make improvements. This is seen as something that the incoming CEO of tech giant Apple could exceed in.
