‘No significant improvement’ in air traffic system: report  Listenfacebook
A new report says Hong Kong's new Air Traffic Control system malfunctioned about 80 times and issued 30 false alarms in its first month of operation. The report by the Factwire news agency also says the problems troubling the system have not eased signicantly since it was launched three months ago. A spokesman for the Airport Development Concern Network, Michael Mo, told Jim Gould the report is cause for concern:

The chairman of Legco’s Transport Panel, Michael Tien, has urged the government to put off plans to co-locate immigration facilities for the Express Rail Link to Guangzhou –if it means that Beijing has to interpret the Basic Law to clear the way. The government is insisting that the rail link remains on schedule to open in the third quarter of next year; even though constitutional questions remain over how mainland immigration authorities can operate in Hong Kong. Tien told RTHK’s Annemarie Evans that the target opening date is a pipe-dream:

US President Donald Trump endorsed the long-standing "One China" policy on Thursday during a phone call with President Xi Jinping, a move analysts interpreted as a change of course for the mercurial leader. The tycoon-turned-statesman agreed he would "honour" a position that has been held by successive US governments since Richard Nixon's administration.
