Firms taste success in business-friendly Hainan

Hainan is set to kick-start its independent customs regime on December 18 when a package of zero-tariff and low-tax measures takes effect.

It is expected to further transform the island-province into a globally competitive free-trade port and a centre for offshore financing.

The implementation of preferential policies in Hainan is also part of the efforts by Beijing to further advance the country’s opening up, at a time when the global trading system is weighed by the tariff restrictions.
