Sun Zhengcai's case political in nature: academic Listen
A mainland court has sentenced former political high-flyer Sun Zhengcai to life in prison for taking over 170 million yuan in bribes. The former top Communist Party official was once considered in line for a leadership post, and is one of the biggest names to fall in President Xi Jinping's campaign against corruption. Professor Jean-Pierre Cabestan from the Baptist University said the court has meted out a harsh sentence. He told Richard Pyne that the case was not only political in nature but also amounted to a very strong political purge:

The government's launching a pilot scheme to try to lure top talent from the mainland and overseas to come to Hong Kong to work for local tech companies. The scheme promises to make it faster and easier for IT companies to recruit people, amid a shortage of local talent.
