A former member of the Democratic Party, Nelson Wong, will stand as a candidate in February’s Legislative Council by-election for the newly-formed party, Third Side.
The new party says it aims to offer an alternative to the now-polarised pan-democratic and pro-establishment camps.
The seat, in the New Territories East constituency, was vacated by the former Civic Party lawmaker, Ronny Tong.
The Civic Party's Alvin Yeung, the DAB's Holden Chow and Sai Kung district councillor Christine Fong have already submitted their nomination forms for the by-election, which will be held on February 28.
The Third Side is chaired by another former member of the Democratic Party, Tik Chi-yuen.
