The man known as the “king of judicial reviews” for seeking legal action against the government on various issues is back at the courts – this time accusing pro-government lawmaker Junius Ho of electoral fraud.
Kwok Cheuk-kin wants the court to disqualify the pro-government lawmaker from the Legislative Council.
Kwok said Ho might have committed electoral fraud by claiming he was a solicitor in Singapore, and England and Wales, during his Legco election campaign.
Last week, Ho dismissed any suggestion of irregularities, saying he was qualified to practise law in the two places, although he had never done so.
This followed the circulation of a letter online, apparently from Britain's Solicitors Regulation Authority, which also said Ho was not on its list.
