A group of people held a protest outside outside Beijing’s liaison office in Hong Kong on Friday ahead of a meeting between mainland officials and some 200 local members of the NPC and Beijing’s top advisory body.

The group shouted slogans accusing the delegates of selling out Hong Kong as those attending the meeting arrived at the office in Western.

Reports said the mainland officials would be discussing the government’s controversial extradition law bill with the delegates to the NPC and CPPCC.

Protesters from the League of Social Democrats, the Democratic Party and the Civil Human Rights Front said the delegates to the Chinese bodies do not represent them.

They also urged the Carrie Lam administration to immediately withdraw the controversial bill.
