A group called Justice Complaints on Monday gathered outside the Mong Kok station to thank the officers for maintaining order during the past week.
About a dozen demonstrators also marched to the Democratic Party’s office, condemning them and accused the opposition party of covering up the violent actions of protesters last Wednesday.
The protest organiser Apple Cheng said the pro-democracy camp is misleading the public with their words, and that the group has found sufficient evidence to refute their claims.
She also said she believes the police used non-lethal weapons due to the threat of bodily harm.
Cheng urged people to carefully evaluate Hong Kong’s current situation, and warned that society will only continue to fracture if people continue to take such actions.
The Democratic Party did not respond to the comments.
