Police says they are dropping all investigations relating to eight people who were arrested in relation to last Wednesday’s violent clashes between protesters and police outside Legco.
The eight were arrested near the protest site on suspicion of loitering.
But police now say they don’t have sufficient evidence to charge them for the offence. Officers said they have consulted legal advice before making the decision.
Procedures to drop the case against seven men have been completed, and officers said they are still trying to contact a woman to complete the relevant procedures.
The eight are among 32 people arrested in relation to the protest against the government’s extradition bill which is now indefinitely suspended.
