Several men dressed in black, similarly to protesters, were seen making multiple arrests outside Victoria Park in Causeway Bay

Wearing helmets and black masks, they were caught on camera chasing protesters, and tying up their hands with plastic zip ties before handing them over to riot police.

When confronted by reporters over whether they were police officers, the men simply yelled at journalists, demanding that they “go away”. They also pushed reporters’ cameras away, saying their work had been obstructed.

Meanwhile, dozens of arrests were also made by uniformed officers near Paterson Street. Protesters were pushed to the ground and tied up before being driven away in police vehicles.

This came after clashes in Causeway Bay between protesters and police that saw petrol bombs thrown and water cannons used.

Some of the protesters then retreated towards Tin Hau and were chased by police. The majority of the protesters rushed into the MTR station there and escaped.

Earlier in the evening, riot police fired several rounds of tear gas and used water cannons to disperse protesters in Wan Chai and Causeway Bay.

At least two reporters were reportedly hurt in the clashes, but so far it is unclear what caused their injuries.
