Police have deployed pepper spray after a small group of people refused to leave the scene of a major rally on Monday in support of a two-day general, briefly blocking Lung Wo Road in Admiralty.

Some members of the group aimed laser pointers at the nearby People's Liberation Army barracks, while others raised a national flag with the word "unreliable" written across it.

They had previously attended a major rally in Tamar Park in support of a general strike that is pushing the government to accept the five key demands of the anti-extradition movement, including the full withdrawal of the now-stalled extradition bill, and a public inquiry into the policing of recent protests.

Most of the remaining protesters had begun to drift away by 9pm.

The rally in Tamar Park continues tomorrow.
