Several dozen protesters from two pro-Beijing groups have staged a protest outside the government headquarters to urge the Education Secretary Kevin Yeung to fire two secondary school teachers who allegedly posted anti-police comments on social media.

It comes after the former Chief Executive CY Leung repeatedly posted messages on his Facebook page, criticising the minister for not taking any action to punish the two teachers.

The protesters from Defend Hong Kong Campaign and Love Hong Kong Link said the Education Bureau has been far too lenient with the two teachers, who they say have been inciting hatred and poisoning the young.

A protester named Cheung, who said he is a retired engineer, said he is worried about the youth in Hong Kong.

"I have been hard working in Hong Kong for the last 40 years. I don't want the next generation destroying the whole Hong Kong society," he said.

The Education Bureau have issued a letter of condemnation to the two teachers and warned that their registrations would be cancelled if any such mistakes are repeated.
