A school pupil shot in the chest by police during a protest in Tsuen Wan on National Day has been charged with rioting and assaulting police.
The form five pupil was among a group of seven people charged with rioting whose cases were due to be heard in Shatin Court on Thursday afternoon.
The teenager was still in Queen Elizabeth Hospital after undergoing surgery and was believed to be in a stable condition.
Police Commissioner Stephen Lo had on Wednesday described an officer's decision to shoot the pupil at close range as "legal and reasonable".
