Radio Television Hong Kong on Sunday night condemned the ongoing acts of violence during the city's protests after a reporter from the station was hit by a Molotov cocktail.

The reporter's poncho caught fire in the incident in Wan Chai earlier in the day and he suffered burns to one side of his face.

The journalist did not appear to have been the target for the Molotov cocktail and protesters rushed to his aid and helped extinguish the flames.

Others called an ambulance and the journalist was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital with a burn near his ear.

A spokesperson for RTHK said the broadcaster seriously condemned acts of violence and called on all parties to show restraint.

Last week, two journalists from the station had to be taken to hospital for treatment on the same day after being hit by projectiles believed to have been fired by the police. Neither suffered serious injuries.
