Chaotic scenes continued across Hong Kong late into Wednesday night, with numerous roads blocked and riot police deploying tear gas and firing other weapons in areas including Mong Kok.
At the Cross-Harbour Tunnel entrance in Hung Hom, toll booths were set alight before being put out by tunnel staff. They were set alight again some time after 11pm, with firefighters called in to put the blaze out.
In Mong Kok, there've been running clashes between protesters and police, with an armoured vehicle used to push past brick barricades along Nathan Road. Officers fired scores of projectiles from the Mong Kok police station.
Large groups of police tactical unit officers, known as "raptors", were seen on the streets of Yuen Long. Tear gas was fired in various areas including Sheung Shui and Yuen Long.
Fires were started in several areas including close to the Baptist University Campus in Kowloon Tong, where students had been building defences since riot police briefly move in earlier in the day. A small number of black-clad protesters were seen to approach the nearby People's Liberation Army barracks.
There are also reports of blocked roads in Sheung Shui, Tseung Kwan O and in Sai Wan Ho, while blockades in Central were removed by police earlier.
