Police on Friday evening confronted anti-government protesters in the vicinity of Prince Edward Road West and Portland Street. The protesters had built barricades and stopped traffic.
The protest marked five months since riot police stormed Prince Edward MTR Station on August 31. On that day, the station had been shut down after police moved in on suspected protesters. Media footage showed officers severely beating people inside a train.
Outside the station on Friday, people laid flowers and threw hell money to remember those who were injured.
Police in riot gear later arrived to remove the items and MTR staff also closed some of the station exits.
Footage showed police clearing large wheelie bins from a main road and chasing protesters, before detaining a number of people.
