Legco president Andrew Leung said on Monday that the police have been called in after secretariat and security staff were obstructed from performing their duties and injured in chaotic scenes at the House Committee meeting.
The DAB's Starry Lee was finally elected chairwoman of the agenda-setting body, with the vote called after most pan-democratic members were dragged out of the room by security guards.
Leung said some lawmakers had made "serious and unfounded accusations" against the secretariat, which he called "grossly unjust and unfair".
He said the secretariat had been upholding the principle of political neutrality while providing professional support in an impartial manner.
