Pro-democracy lawmakers boycotted a Legco House Committee meeting on Friday as they continued to protest over the re-election of the DAB's Starry Lee as its chairwoman.
Members of the camp left placards on their seats with the words “Starry Lee, Best Chairperson”, a day after lawmaker Chu Hoi-dick was removed from a Legco meeting for displaying the same message.
Lee ordered security guards to remove the signs after the DAB's Elizabeth Quat complained about them.
Last week, Lee was re-elected as House Committee chair after months of filibustering by pan-democratic lawmakers.
The pro-democracy camp argued that Lee was illegally re-elected after Legco president Andrew Leung appointed pro-establishment lawmaker Chan Kin-por to preside over the election and end the stalemate.
