A group of protesters rallied at the IFC mall on Sunday, to mark nine months since police stormed Prince Edward MTR station. There was no clear explanation why they chose to mark the event at a different location.

About 20 people sang protest songs and chanted demands for greater democracy and an independent probe into the demonstrations that erupted last June.

Police were stationed both inside and outside the mall as a precaution.

Those joining the protest shrugged off the small turnout.

"It's already 11 months since the protests began. Therefore, I think it's kind of a normal situation, like there are fewer and fewer people coming out to the streets to protest. But I think their minds won't change," Alton, a university student, said.

"They are still fighting for our freedom, they are still fighting for Hong Kong, but they are just using other methods, other ways to voice their opinion."
