Hong Kong stocks ended Wednesday's morning session with gains as traders await the end of a key Federal Reserve policy meeting and keep tabs on progress in talks over a new US stimulus.
The Hang Seng Index edged up 0.12 percent, or 29 points, to 24,801.
Tech heavyweight Tencent eased 1.3 percent to HK$536 per share, while Alibaba lost 0.6 percent at HK$243.
HSBC rebounded, gaining 1.8 percent at HK$35.45. (AFP)
